Maren graduated from Harvard College in 2010 with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Health Policy. She is interested in Obstetrics & Gynecology and the role of media in health literacy. Before medical school she worked as a medical researcher for The Dr. Oz Show and has written articles that have been featured in numerous online publications. She is currently taking a year out of medical school to serve as the “Stanford-NBC News Global Health Media Fellow”, where she will split her time between working at the WHO in New Delhi, taking journalism classes at the Stanford School of Journalism, and working under Dr. Nancy Snyderman in the NBC News Medical Unit. At the end of her fellowship she hopes to complete her 4th year of medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and go on to pursue a career as an Ob-Gyn, while continuing to use journalism and media to educate the public.
