Originally from El Paso, Texas, Shaidah attended York University for her undergraduate degree and majored in Health Sciences with a specialization in cellular physiology. She then completed her MSc in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto in 2011. After working in the research field for two years, she started studying medicine at the University of Toronto. Her medical interests include epidemiology, internal medicine and surgery. Outside of medicine, Shaidah enjoys playing basketball, travelling and learning how to dance.
