Aliya is a fourth year medical student at the University of Toronto. Prior to entering medicine, she completed her undergraduate studies in Health Sciences at McMaster University, as well as a Master of Science degree at McGill University where she specialized in clinical epidemiology. She has had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of research projects, with a particular emphasis on the improvement of patient safety, quality of care and health service use.
