He completed his PhD investigating the molecular control of neuronal excitability that influences active versus passive coping strategies in the lab of Dr. Dane Chetkovich MD PhD. Currently, he is completing his medical training and applying to psychiatry residencies while serving as an adjunct post-doctoral fellow investigating the transcriptional signatures of the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia with Dr. Hongxin Dong MD PhD. Following his training, Daniel hopes to be able to begin a career as a successful physician-scientist and contribute to the growing body of literature describing the complex interaction between genes, environment, and behavior.
