Maren graduated from Harvard College in 2010 with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Health Policy. She is currently in her 4th year of medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in Obstetrics & Gynecology and the role of media in health literacy. Before medical school Maren worked as a medical researcher for The Dr. Oz Show and has written articles that have been featured in numerous online publications. During medical school she served as the “2014-15 Stanford-NBC News Global Health Media Fellow”, where she will split her time between working at the WHO in New Delhi, taking journalism classes at the Stanford School of Journalism, and working in the NBC News Medical Unit. Next year, she hopes to begin residency in Ob/Gyn, while continuing to use journalism and media to educate the public.
